Fed up with the chilli water they served in my hostel, two of us decided to drop into the recently opened Tomato Multi-cuisine Restaurant at New B.E.L Road, Bengaluru, INDIA.
The ambience was calm and homely as we were invited inside and led to the first floor. They have enough space and waiters to cater to you-whether it is waiting for your take-away, getting advice in choosing your food or in serving the food. They even entertained the two cute kids of the family dining next table whilst the parents shoved down the food. 🙂
We ordered kalmi kabab for starters and I must say it was delectable. The chicken was fresh, well cooked and juicy and paired with the chutney-it is yum. Then we had naan, chicken dum biriyani and egg masala. They were all not over the top, just plain good and more importantly fills your stomach.
The only drawback that I felt about this restaurant is their drinks. They do not serve alcoholic drinks-no problem. But they did have drinks of the kind as virgin pinacolada but when we asked about what they contain all we got was-‘we have this green/red/yellow/… syrup and we will pair it with sprite’!!! The brave people that we were, we still ordered a drink and I cannot tell you what it is because I do not know what it is-we were confused as to what was available and they served something which tasted like sharbat in sprite and we were billed with it becoming a milk shake!?!
My verdict: Good place, good food, does not burn a hole in your wallet. I would definitely come back to this place if I want to eat something other than burger and pasta. If you are a college student and on a budget, then this is one of the best options for a party/treat. They have student discounts and other offers on a regular basis.
